MSSI AND GEODAN (NL) AWARDED BP CONTRACT FOR REAL TIME LOCATION SYSTEM TO ENHANCE SAFETY AND IMPROVE OPERATIONS Germantown, MD – December 15, 2007 – Multispectral Solutions, Inc. (MSSI) and its partner Geodan Mobile Solutions (Geodan), Amsterdam, Netherlands, have been awarded a contract from BP to install a system to enhance safety and improve operations. The system will be installed at BP’s new 122,000 square foot Gulf of Mexico Preservation and Maintenance facility in Houma, LA. MSSI and Geodan were selected following an open competition that included a detailed technical and cost evaluation and an on-site trial. The trial involved precisely locating tags within two shelved storage areas and demonstrating a variety of safety related software features. MSSI and Geodan successfully installed and configured the system in a single day, with the trial conducted over the following two days. MSSI is pleased that its ultra wideband (UWB)-based Sapphire Precision Asset Location System™ has been selected for this demanding application. Sapphire’s precision localization capability, even in the presence of severe multipath, highlighted the benefits of MSSI’s technology over competing UWB and Wi-Fi approaches which were also tested by BP during the trial runs at Houma. The rapid installation of Sapphire, vis-à-vis these other competing technologies, was viewed by BP as another major benefit of MSSI’s system over competing RTLS solutions which may take weeks or even months to properly configure.
