UK'S OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS (OFCOM) APPROVES UWB USE WITHIN THE UNITED KINGDOM EFFECTIVE 13 AUGUST 2007 Germantown, MD – August 6, 2007 – The United Kingdom's Office of Communications ("OFCOM") is the first agency to issue regulations for the unlicensed use of ultra wideband (UWB) technology within Europe. By European Commission (EC) mandate, all 27 Member States must have such regulations in place by 16 August 2007. The UK UWB regulation is referred to as the "Wireless Telegraphy (Ultra-Wideband Equipment) (Exemption) Regulations 2007.
