MSSI RELEASES DEVELOPER SOFTWARE FOR ITS V652M ULTRA WIDEBAND HANDHELD RFID READER Germantown, MD – January 30, 2008 – Multispectral Solutions, Inc. (MSSI), a leading provider of ultra wideband (UWB) systems for RFID and real-time location, has released V652M-SOFT, a developers' software package for the company's UWB-based Sapphire VISION Mobile Tag Reader (V652M). The V652M, a ruggedized, handheld UWB reader, is fully compatible with all Sapphire family tags. Like its fixed infrastructure counterpart, the V652M brings another dimension to inventory identification and visibility - 100% reads, adjustable read ranges, an update rate of over 2000 tags per second, superb performance in industrial multipath environments and full mobility. The V652M consists of a handheld, battery operated, ruggedized mobile computer with a plug-in UWB receiver module. The computer runs Microsoft® Windows® CE .NET and measures 11.4 x 4.75 x 3 inches. The UWB module, with integrated antenna, measures 5 x 3 x 1 inches and simply plugs into the computer's peripheral interface. The V652M-SOFT Developers' Software Package enables programmers to customize and enhance the V652M reader for a wide variety of RFID inventory applications. The executable program communicates directly with the V652M's UWB module to provided device configuration, data extraction to user-developed programs, and receive sensitivity control.
